CRAPS

Throwing the dice is easy but understanding the betting rules is complicated. There are many variations on guessing the totals of two dice. Start the game with a Come Out throw and try to score 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12 to win. If you have 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, you get a Point and can then throw again.

Each side of a Craps table is identical, with zones that are called Pass and Don't Pass line bets; Come and Don't Come bets; Odds bet; Place bets and Field bets. The place in the center is reserved for Proposition Bets.

Winning/losing plays

Pass Bets
/Don't Bets – When you bet on a Come Out, choose Pass Bet (you plan to throw 7 or 11 to win) or Don't Bet (you want 2 or 3 to win). Should you get a 12, this is called a Don't Bets Tie and lets you toss the dice again.

Various Craps bets

Pass Line Bet
– Rolling a 7 or 11 gives you a 'Natural Win', while a 2, 3, or 12 gives you a 'Natural Loss' ('Craps'). If you mark the Point on the Pass Line, this lets you make a Come Bet .

Odds on Pass Line Bet
– After fixing the Point, you can bet again. By choosing the Come Bet and not the Pass Line Bet, you are making an Odds on Come Bet . Nevertheless you can also choose to make an Odds on Don't Come Bet , where you win with 2 or 3 and lose with 7 or 11.

Place Bets
– Here you fix the Point and then state that your intention is to go for a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10.

Field Bets – In this case, 'one dice roll decides all'. You will win if you have a 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12.

Big Six, Big Eight Bets – There are 1:1 odds for your prediction that a 6 or 8 will turn up before a 7.
